Abstract:

More than 22% of the world's agricultural land is saline, and this trend continues to increase with climate changes. Salinity stress causes leaf color change, osmotic stress, ionic toxicity, prevents growth, photosynthesis and plant performance. Due to their size less than micron, metal nanoparticles have a great absorption and transmission power in plants. Salinity stress is a major problem in hot and dry areas under tomato cultivation. For this purpose, investigating the mutual effects of the size and type of zinc oxide and iron oxide nanoparticles on the improvement and change of growth and increasing the resistance to salt stress in tomato plants of the early urbana variety were carried out in the form of a completely randomized and factorial design with 4 replications, at a significant level of 5%. In this research, zinc oxide nanoparticles in 25 and 50 nm sizes, iron oxide in 25 nm sizes and sodium chloride in 0 and 75 mM levels were used. Nanoparticles and salinity treatments were both applied to the plants. The results showed that salt stress led to a decrease in plant growth parameters such as shoot and root length, leaf area, RWC, ion leakage. Also, NaCl led to an increase in the accumulation of prolin and other aldehydes, sodium, iron and zinc. The application of nanoparticles had a slight effect in stress-free conditions, but in stressed conditions, these two nanoparticles alone and especially in combination neutralized the effect of salinity and reduced the damage caused by salinity stress.

Abstract:

The volatile oil obtained by hydrodistillation of the aerial parts of Matricaria chamomilla L. (Asteraceae) growing in Botanical Garden, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Iran, was investigated by gas chromatography (GC) and GC/ mass spectrometery (MS). Sixty-three components were characterized, representing 86.21% of the total oil components detected. α-Bisabolol oxide A(25.01%) and abisabolol oxide B (9.43%) were the major constituents of the oil.

Abstract:

Chamazolene, a-bisabolene oxide A and a-bisabolol oxide A and B are important and valuable sesquiterpens in the flowers of Anthemis and Matricaria genus that are noticed because of their different usage in cosmetic and hygiene materials. In this research, the flowers of 3 specimens of Matricaria recutita L. (from Khuzestan, Booshehr and Fars provinces), M. aurea (Loefl.) Schultz-Bip. (from Tange eram) and Anthemis hyalina DC. (from Dashtestan) were collected. After drying the flowers in room temperature, the essential oils were obtained by hydro-distillation. Chemical composition of the oils were investigated by analytical GC, GC/MS and computing retention indices. The oil yield of M. recutita (Booshehr) was 2.85%, in specimen of Khuzestan 0.68% and in specimen of Fars was 2.35%, in M. aurea 0.63% and in A. hyalina was 2.54%. Nine compounds were recognized in different specimens of M. recutita that their main components were a-bisabolene oxide A (63.4%-92.4%), a-bisabolol oxide A (3.3%- 15.4%) and chamazolene (2.6%-10.6%). Seven compounds were identified in M. aurea that a- bisabolene oxide A (59.0%), a-bisabolol oxide A (22.3%) and chamazolene (8.8%) were main components. Six compounds were recognized in essential oil of A. hyalina that major compounds were a-bisabolene oxide A (66.1%), a-bisabolol oxide A (15.5%) and chamazolene (6.9%).

Abstract:

Nitric oxide (NO) is a simple ubiquitous signaling molecule and plays important roles in almost every biological system. Recent evidences suggest that NO may act as an endocrine molecule. The aim of this review is considering available literature on endocrine roles of NO and/or its metabolites, i.e. nitrite and nitrate. Existing data suggest the idea that NO is a hormone that after production in tissues, it is stabilized and transported as nitrite and/or Snitrosothiols in the blood to target cells.

Abstract:

Polyhydroquinolines are crucial compounds with a very wide range of biological functions such as vasodilation, anti-atherosclerosis, liver protection, and anti-diabetic. It is also used in the preparation of drugs such as nifedipine, nicardipine and Lacidipine. The common method of synthesis of polyhydroquinolines is one-step condensation reaction of Dimedone, aldehydes with ethyl acetate and ammonia in the presence of various catalysts such as MCM-41, molecular iodine, bread yeast, etc. Most of these methods have disadvantages such as low gain, high reaction temperature, long time. In this research, cerium oxide / zinc oxide nanoparticles have been reported as a very effective and economical catalyst for the four-component and one-pot reactions of polyhydroquinolines using the reaction of Dimedone, Aryl halide, ethyl acetoacetate and ammonium acetate.
